SOOA Data Protection Rules - GDPR
New rules, called GDPR have been implemented across the European Union that covers how personal data is handled. This requires all companies and organisations that hold personal data about individuals to manage it securely.
The SOOA is a membership organisation that helps manage the housing complex for the benefit of all home owners. The committee acts on behalf of owners to ensure Sirena Olympia is managed properly.
As an organisation we are required to comply with a number of legal obligations needed to issue maintenance invoices etc and to comply with the laws of Cyprus, such as to have an elected management committee. Therefore, the committee has to collate and store certain details from home owners for contractual necessity and for compliance with legal obligations.
It is for these reasons that personal data is collected about apartment owners and securely stored. This data has and always will be confidential to the SOOA management committee and our current agent, C G Properties Services Limited.
It may be necessary in the event of an insurance claim to provide specific data to the insurer of the complex, for them to fully investigate any claim.
The data of owners who sell and leave the complex will be retained for a maximum period of twelve months from the date of sale notified to the Secretary of the SOOA.
If you have questions please contact the Secretary.
